Icy conditions in store as sub-zero temperatures to sweep across Ireland

Ireland is set to see temperatures plunge below freezing on multiple nights this week, with the potential for 'wintry showers' for the start of December over the weekend.
Although Sunday was a mild night, there have been frosty conditions in recent days as temperatures have steadily dropped from the low to mid-teens down to single figures.
That fall will continue as the sun drops over the next few days.
The latest forecast from Met Éireann has temperatures falling as low as -3C on multiple evenings later this week.
will be generally dry in the daytime apart from a few showers in Ulster as temperatures peak at 6C to 11C.
Tonight we will see clear skies, bringing with it frosty conditions as the temperatures fall to as low as -2C in some parts.
On , "any mist and fog will gradually clear" and it will be a mostly dry day with spells of sunshine.
Daytime highs will reach 9C but mist and fog will set in on Tuesday night when temperatures will once again drop to -2C. Met Éireann said there would be "frost and possibly ice in some areas".
will be a mixed bag, dry in most areas but "there will be patchy rain or drizzle". Wednesday night will see "outbreaks of rain or drizzle" moving southwards, with temperatures once again falling below zero.
"It will be cold with widespread frost and possible ice as temperatures drop to between -3C and 1C," said Met Éireann.

By , it will become colder "with temperatures only reaching 3C to 6C".
"It will be dry with sunny spells at first, but scattered showers will develop over Ulster and Connacht in the afternoon, extending further south in the evening," Met Éireann said.
"Some of the showers will be wintry, especially over higher ground."
There will be widespread frost and potentially some icy patches on Thursday night, with temperatures falling to lows of -3C to 0C.
, "the first day of meteorological winter", will be cold, with a mix of sunny spells and showers.
Most of the showers will be in the north and east and some will be wintry, with the highest temperatures hitting 3C to 6C.
