Teachers have not 'raised the flag of industrial action with regard to wage increases'

ASTI president Eamon Dennehy stressed there was 'huge disquiet' among teachers with regard to the trajectory of their profession, which many in the sector feel is not seen to be as attractive as it used to be.

Teachers calling for inflation-matching pay increases have not “raised the flag of industrial action with regard to wage increases", the ASTI president has insisted.

Eamon Dennehy said every worker in the country was aware that the cost of living had gone up by an enormous amount.
