Coronavirus: 11,182 new cases confirmed in Ireland, the highest ever daily total

There have been a further 11,182 confirmed cases of Covid-19 in Ireland, the Department of Health said, the highest number of cases reported on any one day since the pandemic began.

As of 8am on Christmas Eve, 393 Covid-19 patients were in hospital, a rise of three from yesterday.
