Eamon Ryan: Climate council appointments  done to 'letter of the law’

Eamon Ryan has been accused of cronyism by Sinn Féín for appointing his former special advisor to the Climate Change Advisory Council.

Environment Minister Eamon Ryan says the appointment to the Climate Change Advisory Council (CCAC) of two people with links to the Green Party was done "to the letter of the law".

Mr Ryan told the Dáil on Thursday that the appointment of Professor Morgan D Bazilian and Dr Cara Augustenborg to the CCAC was done within legislation after Sinn Féin's Pearse Doherty labelled the appointments "cronyism".
