Tusla staff threatened and abused on social media

Death threats, having their children’s photos posted online with offensive comments, and one worker’s entire holiday plans being leaked with suggestions of protests against them are just some examples of online abuse that has been directed at Tusla staff.

A freedom of information request to the child and family agency by the Irish Examiner revealed “several hundred examples” of Tusla having to approach social media companies about online content related to its staff or to a child in its care.
