The Dáil will sit this Thursday, despite objections from both TDs and civil servants.

The chamber will sit from 2pm to 5pm on Friday, with Health Minister Simon Harris and Social Protection Minister Regina Doherty each taking a 90-minute session of statements. The Dáil Business Committee made the decision this afternoon.

<p> Volunteers attending the DMax 7.7 fitness event, in honour of Darragh McCarthy, who tragically passed away last year at just 21 years of age. The sold-out fitness event saw over 300 competitors take on DMax 7.7 featuring seven fitness stations, lasting seven minutes per station with a two minute transition between station. Competitors entered in teams of two and tested their strength, endurance and mental resilience across a series of challenges including rope skipping, ski-erg, medicine ball, assault bike, rowing, burpee box jumps and wall balls.
