Varadkar: Noone's comments 'ignorant' but not proportionate for her to lose her job

Taoiseach Leo Varadkar has said that comments by Fine Gael election candidate Catherine Noone about him were “ignorant”, but it was not proportionate for her to lose her job.

Ms Noone, who was elected to the Seanad after failing to win a Dáil seat in 2016, apologised on Tuesday for calling Mr Varadkar “autistic” during an election canvass this week.
