A Limerick man has lost his Supreme Court appeal against his conviction for the murder of a father of six on his 40th birthday in a case of mistaken identity.

A five-judge Supreme Court today unanimously dismissed the appeal by Jonathan Fitzgerald, which centred on whether the trial judge should have warned the jury to treat a female witness as an accomplice.
