Collector shines light on secret ‘Syd’ Barrett painting

There’s a whole saucerful of secrets around the provenance of a painting picked up for half nothing at an auction house clearance sale, but the signs are it’s the work of Syd Barrett, one of the founding members of psychedelic rock band Pink Floyd.

If its authenticity is confirmed, Maggie Matthews, a Cavan-based antiques dealer, could have on her hands the biggest find of her fledgling career.
