Garda reform plan ‘fundamentally flawed’

Pressure on Garda HQ is going to mount as it deliberates its response to a hard-hitting report from the Policing Authority which found that the Garda’s flagship reform plan is not going to deliver.

In a report to the justice minister, the authority called on Garda bosses to conduct an “urgent” review of the five-year Modernisation and Renewal Programme (MRP), saying it had “fundamental flaws”.
