The number of people recorded on the Live Register has fallen to its lowest level since November 2008.

The number of people recorded on the Live Register has fallen to its lowest level since November 2008.

According to the latest figures from the CSO, there were 288,000 in receipt of payments in October.

It marks a reduction of just over 3,000 in the month and a drop of over 43,000 year on year.

**The Live Register is not designed to measure unemployment. It includes part-time workers (those who work up to three days a week), seasonal and casual workers entitled to Jobseeker’s Benefit (JB) or Jobseeker’s Allowance (JA).
