Toddler airlifted to hospital after severing finger in accident

A young child has been airlifted to hospital after reportedly severing part of a finger in an accident, writes Patrick Flynn.

The toddler, believed to be about 12 months old, is understood to have suffered the injury at their home near Ennis, Co Clare this afternoon.
