Cork has the highest number of road deaths; 543 arrests for drink driving in July
There has been an 8% increase in the number of road deaths so far this year, with 93 people having died as a result of crashes.
New figures from the Gardaà and the Road Safety Authority show that half of the fatalities happened at the weekend, with 20% – or 19 deaths – between midnight and 6am on Sundays.
