Component parts of improvised explosive device in search of Louth dwelling

A dwelling and lands are being searched as part of an ongoing operation targeting dissident republicans in the border region.

So far a number of items have been found including the component parts of an improvised explosive device after searches were conducted in a dwelling and lands at Jenkinstown, Co Louth.

As a result, the services of the Army Explosive Ordinance Disposal Team have been requested and are in attendance.

A quantity of ammunition has also been recovered.

Searches are ongoing.
