By Eoin English
The parents of murdered Irish nurse Karen Buckley will be in court this morning for the sentencing of the man who bludgeoned their daughter to death.
John and Marian Buckley, from Glynn, near Mourneabbey in north Cork, arrived in Glasgow Airport yesterday afternoon where they were met by a police liaison officer.
They will be in the South Court of Glasgow High Court at 10am where Judge Lady Rae is expected to sentence Alexander Pacteau, 21, to life in prison. She will also decide on a minimum sentence he must serve before being eligible for parole.
Pacteau pleaded guilty in court on August 12 last to Karen’s brutal murder in Glasgow in April.
He struck her up to 13 times with a wrench before trying to dispose of her body in a bath, and later a barrel, of caustic soda.
The Buckley family has said they hope "evil killer" Pacteau spends the rest of his life behind bars.
