Two men arrested after cash till ripped from counter of Tallaght takeaway

Two men are being questioned in connection with a robbery at a fast food outlet in Tallaght in the early hours of this morning.

The men, a 40-year-old and a 23-year-old, went into a takeaway in the Old Bawn Shopping centre at around 12.20am, threatened staff and ripped the till from the counter.

One of the men was armed with a live chainsaw.

They then left the scene in the direction of Bohernabreena Rd.

A short time later Gardaí arrested two men nearby and they are being detained at Tallaght Garda Station.

The cash register and a sum of cash were recovered.
