Four men have been taken to hospital after a traffic accident in County Kildare this morning.

Four men have been taken to hospital after a traffic accident in County Kildare this morning.

The car involved in the accident left the road, entered a ditch and overturned on the R407, Clane to Kilcock Road, at Mainham, Clane, County Kildare, this morning at around 2.30am.

There were five men in the car at the time, four aged between 18 and 20 years and a juvenile.

Four of the men were taken to Naas General Hospital - two with serious, non life threatening injuries and two with minor injuries.

The R407 is closed at Mainham to for a forensic investigation and diversions are in place.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses, particularly those who travelled the R407 this morning between 1.45am and 2.45am to contact them at Naas Garda Station on 045 884300, The Garda Confidential Line, 1800 666111 or any Garda Station.
