An Antrim couple are being praised for preventing what appears to have been an attempted child abduction at a holiday resort in Cyprus this week.

It is reported a man to grab a number of children, but the couple from Ballymena saw what was happening and were able to restrain the culprit. He is though to be Bulgarian.

Seven-year-old Thomas McFarlane from Belfast was among the children.

His father Sean Paul said: "He pulled them over the wall and had them on the ground asking the two kids their names, ages and where they were from."
