Jury to return tomorrow on O’Rorke assisted suicide trial

The jury will return to court tomorrow in the trial of Gail O'Rorke, who is accused of assisting her friend's death by suicide.

The taxi driver from Kilclare Gardens, Tallaght denies helping to end the life of 51-year-old MS sufferer Bernadette Forde in June, 2011.

She is accused of assisting her suicide in a number of ways, including a charge that she attempted to make travel arrangements to Zurich - where the Dignitas clinic is based.

Gail O'Rorke told gardaí that another woman Mary Lundy was present when Bernadette swallowed the drugs at her Dublin 4 apartment.

Ms Lundy was arrested but had “nothing to say” when asked about her alleged involvement.

The prosecution has now finished calling evidence in the trial.
