McDonald: I was perfectly entitled to reveal names of politicians
The Sinn Féin deputy leader Mary Lou McDonald is defending her decision to reveal the names of politicians contained in a dossier of alleged tax evasion.
Ms McDonald, who used Dáil privilege to disclose the details yesterday, has been criticised by members of the Public Accounts Committee.
A number of those named have since issued statements denying the allegations.
Fine Gael TD John Deasy says is accusing her of using PAC for political ends, adding that she is affecting the workings of the committee and damaging it.
Mary Lou McDonald says she had sought legal advice.
She said: "What I did, I was perfectly entitled to do as a member of the Oireachtas yesterday, and I did it in a considerate fashion.
"At every step, anything that I have done has been guided by the legal advice afforded to me."
