Justice Minister Frances Fitzgerald has said she is 'disappointed' at the failure to find a candidate to fill the vacant position of Secretary General at the Department of Justice - a role commanding a salary of €176,000 a year.

Her comments come after it emerged no suitable candidate applied for the position, which became vacant following the stepping aside of former holder Brian Purcell.
