Gardaí hunt for armed robber after post office raid in Kildare

Gardaí are investigating an armed robbery on a post office in Co. Kildare this morning.

It happened in Celbridge at around 9.50am when a man entered the post office and threatened staff with what is believed to be a firearm.

He fled the scene with a sum of money in a silver car which was found abandoned a short time later on Old Town Road, Celbridge.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
