Legal objections to Poolbeg Incinerator discussed

New plans on how to stop the Poolbeg Incinerator going ahead were discussed at a public meeting held in Ringsend last night.

Locals from Ringsend, Irishtown and Sandymount outlined their objections to what they call the "construction of a monster in Dublin Bay".

Further legal action is now being proposed as work is expected to get underway in a few weeks time.

"We had quite a successful meeting … the people were informed of the legal action that's being proposed [and] there's also going to be days of protest coming up," said Frances Corr from the Combined Residents Against the Incinerator group.

"We're still saying what we said in the beginning - it's the wrong technology in the wrong place."
