Minister denies confidential papers stolen in 'opportunistic' burglary

Communication Minister Alex White has denied that sensitive state papers were stolen in a burglary at his home last week.
A spokesperson for the minister's Department of Communications has confirmed that Mr White's house in Terenure was burgled on Thursday and that a small number of items were stolen.
It is understood the robbery took place at the home of Communication Minister Alex White between 11pm on Thursday night and 7am on Friday morning.
The department said most of the items, including the minister's briefcase, have been recovered.
It is believed the raiders took his briefcase, an I-pad and an IMac.
However, the department said: "No sensitive state papers were stolen and there is no cause for concern in this regard.
"The minister believes this was an opportunistic burglary and he would like to put this matter behind him."
No arrests have been made and Gardaí are appealing for witnesses to the incident to come forward.
