Regional jobs focus of second day at FG 'think-in'
Jobs will be the focus of the second and final day of the Fine Gael "think-in" in Cork today.
The party has been focusing on certain issues ahead of the Dáíl's return next week.
The economy and health have already been discussed, and the Minister for Jobs, Richard Bruton, will outline plans to his colleagues today:
"We will be looking at eh sectors that offer the potential for further growth, [and] making sure regions share in that benefit - growth in all regions hasn't been uniform," he said.
"We'll also be looking at how to get more people to start their own business - because that's, ultimately, the driver of a strong domestic economy."
Sinn Féin also concludes its meeting today. Party President Gerry Adams said they are working on being in Government.
"One if the issues is … what programme for Government would Sinn Féin like to implement if we had a mandate?"
He also said the party was focusing on seeing water charges abolished.
Martin McGuinness said the party will perform strongly at the next general election, but they won't bend on commitments made to the electorate - including the repeal of the property tax.
