NASRA: Taping of calls ‘very worrying’
The representative body for the ambulance service has said reports that phone calls in the service were routinely taped are "very worrying".
The National Ambulance Service Representative Association is now calling for a full HSE investigation into claims that internal and external phone lines were recorded and shared with other State agencies.
Chairman Michael Dixon said, if confirmed, it would represent a "serious breach" of the rights and privacy of ambulance staff.
He is called for the Data Protection Commissioner to look into the matter.
