Five arrested in anti-burglary operation

Five men have been arrested as part of the nationwide anti-burglary operation, Operation Fiacla.

Following reports of two burglaries at around 9.30pm in Drumshambo, Co Leitrim yesterday evening, gardaí stopped and searched a car which had been sighted in the area at the time of the robberies.

Cash as well as other items were recovered during the search.

Three teenage males, a man in his 20s and another in his 30s were arrested at the scene,

They are being held at Carrick on Shannon, Ballymote and Sligo garda stations under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act.
