Ombudsman investigates claim that gardaí sought Sunday World reporter's phone records

The Garda Ombudsman is investigating a complaint that a phone used by a prominent Sunday World journalist has been monitored by the Gardaí.

According to the newspaper, records from a phone used by investigations editor Nicola Tallant have been requested routinely since 2010.
