Three men arrested by gardaí investigating a post office robbery in county Roscommon earlier this week have been released without charge.

Two masked men, one believed to be armed, entered the premises in Strokestown at around 9.30am on Tuesday morning and threatened staff.

They made off with an undisclosed sum of cash in a silver Volvo car, which later crashed on the road between Ballymahon and Lanesborough.

All three have been released and a file will be sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions.
