Reilly met with families of Portlaoise infant fatalities

It has emerged that the Health Minister, James Reilly, met with three of the five families whose babies died at Portlaoise hospital.

It has emerged that the Health Minister, James Reilly, met with three involved in the issue of care around a number of pregnancies and births at Portlaoise hospital.

Doctor Reilly held the meetings in private over the weekend. It comes ahead of an Oireachtas health committee hearing into the deaths, and an investigation to be carried out by the Chief Medical Officer.
