Landmark appeal involving surrogacy birth to start today

Seven judges of the Supreme Court are to hear a landmark appeal about the legal rights involved in surrogacy births.

It follows a High Court ruling last year that a genetic mother of twins born to a surrogate could be named as the legal mother on the children’s birth certificates.
