Gardaí ramp up checks on mobile phone use while driving

Gardai attached to the Traffic Division are carrying out checkpoints tonight and tomorrow in the Dublin region to ensure drivers are not using mobile phones while behind the wheel.

During Thursday alone, over 100 fixed penalty notices were issued to motorists caught using their phones.
