Man arrested after gardaí seize synthetic drugs

A man has been arrested in connection with the discovery of synthetic drugs, the second such seizure this week.

The 25-year-old was detained by Revenue Customs officers and members of the Garda National Drugs Unit in Sligo last night after being found in possession of 1.5 kilos of 4-Mec.

The drugs which are believed to have originated in China are worth an estimated €52,000.

Gardaí believe the head-shop drug was destined for the North and the PSNI are now helping with the investigation.
