Fatal road collision in Westmeath

A man has died after being struck by a car in Co Westmeath.

It happened shortly after 3pm this afternoon, when a husband and wife were crossing the road near Mullingar hospital. The 70-year-old man was hit by a car.

Diversions are in place as Gardaí carry out a forensic examination.
