Lifeboat rescues yacht after collision in Dublin Bay

A lifeboat was called to the scene of a collision between two yachts today in Dublin Bay.

A 30 foot yacht had been sailing between Baily Lighthouse and Dun Laoghaire when it collided with another yacht sailing in the opposite direction at around 3.30pm.

The 30 foot yacht was holed and demasted, and there were fears it would sink.

However, with the help of the coastguard it docked safely at 5pm and nobody was injured in the incident.
