A new survey has found that the horsemeat scandal has left a lasting impact on the habits of Irish shoppers.

The survey commissioned by the Food Safety Authority of Ireland found that 51% of Irish shoppers are buying fewer frozen burgers.

Up to 42% of people said they have cut down on buying frozen meals in general.

The study found that half of participants said they were more conscious about food safety in general, while 45% said they now pay more attention to the labels on food.
