Gardaí in Dublin are appealing to the public to help identify a man found dead in a derelict house in Phibsboro.

The badly decomposed remains were found at 44 Grand Canal Bank Way shortly after 12pm yesterday.

Gardaí say they believe the body may have been there since 2009.

A post-mortem revealed he died from natural causes.

He is described as being between 5' - 5'6" tall, of thin build, and was found wearing navy boots, combat pants and a green-striped jumper. He was also wearing a Pulsar-brand watch.

Gardaí said they are checking missing persons reports and will use both dental records and DNA testing in an attempt to identify the body.
