European Commission seeks applications for trainee positions

The European Commission is seeking applications for trainee positions in its numerous institutions across Europe.

The trainee programmes known as "stagaires" will commence next March and details are available on the EU Commission website 'traineeships' page.

Each Stagaire will be paid €1,000 per month for five months.

Caoimhe Gallagher, from Tinahely in Co Wicklow, said the trainee programme is an open door to a vast range of job opportunities.

"By doing the EU traineeship you have access to a fantastic array of jobs both at home in Ireland but then also closer to home in Europe," she said.

"The experience and training you get in these six months will not only broaden your access to the jobs markets in other initiations, but it is a real boon on your CV and it will also help move your career forward."
