Gardaí are carrying out house-to-house inquiries in Co Kerry following the discovery of the bodies of a young mother and daugher in a house in Killorglin on Sunday.

27-year-old Jolanta Lubien and her eight-year-old daughter Enrica Lubyte were found dead in their home on Sunday night.

A double murder investigation is expected to be launched later today once the post mortem examinations are concluded.

Reporter with Radio Kerry Aisling O'Brien said it is understood there was no forced entry at the house and Gardaí are trying to piece together Jolanta's final movements.

She said: "She had contact with her sister on Saturday that they had arranged that Jolanta was going to look after her sister Christina's child.

"There was concern raised when Christina couldn't get in touch with Jolanta.

"We heard from other people in the estate that had contacted her, she was definitely seen on Friday and on Saturday."
