Gardaí expected to launch double murder probe in Kerry

Gardaí are expected to launch a double murder investigation later this morning as inquiries continue into the death of a young mother and her eight-year-old daughter in County Kerry.

They have been named locally as 27-year-old Jolanta Lubiene and her daughter Andrica.

Their bodies were found at their home in Killorglin on Sunday night.

Post mortem examinations have been taking place at Kerry General Hospital and the examination is due to be completed this morning.

It is understand the family, who were from Lithuania, had been living in Kerry for approximately five years.
