Govt may lift restriction to facilitate compensation for symphysiotomy victims

Women who survived the procedure of symphysiotomy in childbirth look set to get the law changed so they can seek compensation in the courts.

It is understood the Coalition will accept a Sinn Féin motion in the Dáil tonight that will temporarily lift the 'statute of limitations' that is preventing legal cases being taken.
