Biker dies following Westmeath crash

A man in his 20s has died following a crash in Co Westmeath.

The man was on a motorbike which collided with a van at Loughnavalley between Mullingar and Athlone, around 4.30pm this afternoon.

He was taken to Mullingar Hospital but was later pronounced dead.

The van driver's injuries were not life-threatening.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses and the road remains closed with diversions in place.
