Jason Morrissey received 14 years for the manslaughter of James Tynan from Johnstown in Kilkenny.

He died after he was assaulted by Morrissey in the early hours of February 19 last as he left a night club on Liberty Square.

The Tynan family read a victim impact statement at his sentencing at Nenagh Circuit court today.

Judge Tom Teehan said it was the most affecting statement he had heard in his career.

He sentenced Morrissey to 21 years in total for the fatal assault as well as three assaults on other men in the previous days.
