Firearms and drugs seized in Louth raid
Firearms, ammunition and a quantity of drugs have been seized by gardaí during a raid on a derelict building in Castlebellingham in Co. Louth.
Gardaí recovered a sawn-off shotgun, along with a number of cartridges, four viable improvised explosive devices, and other material used in the manufacture of explosives, during the search yesterday.
Heroin with an estimated street value of €45,000 was also seized.
An army bomb disposal team attended the scene and they made safe the explosive devices, which have been forensically examined.
The items have been removed from the scene for further investigation.
