A former League of Ireland soccer star who stabbed a man during a late-night attack in Finglas, Dublin has been jailed for five-and-a-half-years.

Trevor Donnelly (aged 37) from Balrothery Estate in Tallaght had pleaded guilty to assault causing serious harm at the Village Inn Pub, Finglas.
