Cork, Kerry, Galway and Mayo motorists warned after heavy rain
Motorists are being advised to take extra care on roads in parts of the south and west this morning, after up to 25 millimetres of rain fell overnight in parts of Galway, Kerry, West Cork and Mayo.
In Kerry, the N71 Killarney to Kenmare Rd is closed this morning between Torc waterfall and Kenmare due to flooding.
Derek Ryan from AA Roadwatch said: "As always the advice if you're driving in wet conditions is to reduce your speed and keep your distance from the driver in front of you.
"Only drive through water if you know it's not too deep for your car. Also, drive through on the centre of the road, which is the highest point of the road."
