Labour MEP raises concerns over bank debt deal
The Labour MEP Nessa Childers is calling for a citizens’ representative to sit in on the negotiations on Ireland's banking debts.
Childers says she is concerned the government isn’t doing enough to protect the Irish people during these key meetings with EU officials.
She also believes it is essential that an objective representative is present when key decisions are being taken on Ireland’s banking debts to ensure vested interests don’t influence the negotiations.
