It has emerged that a suspect object found in Dublin this morning was a viable Improvised Explosive Device.

It has emerged that a suspect object found in Dublin this morning was a viable Improvised Explosive Device.

The Army bomb squad has now made safe the device, found outside a house on Fortlawn Avenue in Blanchardstown.

Local residents were evacuated while a controlled explosion was carried out. The scene has now been declared safe.
