Meagher funeral to take place Friday

The funeral of Jill Meagher is to take place in Melbourne this Friday.

Her family says they will hold a private service at 10.30am local time on Friday morning.

Her remains will be cremated afterwards and her parents are to take her ashes to their home in Perth.

The 29-year-old Co Louth woman was murdered in the suburb town of Brunswick.

Yesterday, some 30,000 people marched through Melbourne to pay their respects to Ms Meagher.
