'Vajazzle' and 'lolz' recognised by Oxford Dictionary
Words used on reality shows and in social media are getting their official place in the English language.
Vajazzle, tweeps, hackathon and lolz
have all entered the Oxford Dictionary online.
Angus Stephenson, from the Oxford University Press, says one slang word they have added has actually been around for a while.
"I looked into this, and 'ridic' … it's not that new," he said.
"It goes back to the 20s and a song by [George] Gershwin, it was flapper slang in the 20s I guess, but it's become particularly high-profile just more recently."
